DIARY: Tabloids beware as the next generation of Clifford PR is unleashed
IAN DARBY, PR Week UK, Friday, 07 August 1998, 12:00am,
PR skills really are in the blood. Word reaches me that Max Clifford’s daughter Louise has entered the world of communications with a Weybridge-based company called Microleve International.
PR skills really are in the blood. Word reaches me that Max
Clifford’s daughter Louise has entered the world of communications with
a Weybridge-based company called Microleve International.
Microleve produces a range of products including facelift machines for
beauty salons called Stay Young. Clifford Junior, fresh from studying
communications at Bournemouth University, has been appointed to the new
role of PR manager for Microleve’s ACE (Arthritis Care
Electrostimulator) products which help treat arthritis problems and
sports injuries.
Louise has herself experienced rheumatoid arthritis, so is the perfect
person to understand Microleve’s products. While her work differs from
her father’s celebrity specialism Louise will be courting some similar
tabloid publications for her employer. The ACE product has already
received coverage in the Daily Mail and News of the World and has been
used on the European Golf Tour and at Wimbledon.
Meanwhile I hear that Clifford Senior has buried the hatchet with old
adversary Quentin Bell over a cosy lunch. Clifford tells me: ’Now he’s
sold up and got the money, Quentin’s great ambition is to become famous
so I thought I could help him out with some expert advice. It was also
my version of meals on wheels now he’s getting on a bit.’
