27 August: I read a story this morning in Revolution magazine and found it rather interesting. An online newspaper has launched in the US, which uses a clever algorithm to identify news content on social networks and then republishes the news on its site, Revolution reports in its story.

26 August: I'm probably a bit slow to this one, but I've seen a few people on Twitter talking about Voltz energy drinks today on the back of an awful blog post by Zoe Griffin (no, I hadn't either). If, like me, you are wondering who she is, according to Zoe: 'I am the UK's coolest party girl. I only go to the best parties and I am at the heart of the action when I'm there. I don't get starstruck by celebrities because I've met all of the biggest stars already.'

27 August Sir Martin Sorrell's announcement of financial results at WPP inspired me to have a quick look at the big three marketing groups (IPG, WPP and Omnicom) to see how they compare in terms of interest on Google. Was there a corresponding drop off vs competitors in WPP? IPG was the dominant marketing group, but WPP was not far behind with 95 per cent of the value of IPG and Omnicom trailed behind.
