Conservatives unveil multi-coloured 'gay-friendly' version of party logo
Amy Golding, marketingmagazine.co.uk, Friday, 28 August 2009, 8:45am,
LONDON - The Conservative Party has created a special version of its tree logo for its 'Conference Pride' event this autumn, which it is described by the party as 'the first major gay event open to the wider public to be listed by one of the main political parties.'
The rainbow-coloured logo is on the party's website and will be used in marketing material connected to the event.
The conference will be supported by a party that will be held in Canal Street, Manchester on 6 October.
The Tories ditched its torch logo in favour of an oak tree in 2006. Anna-Maren Ashford, the party's head of brand communications, said 'The tree is rooted and strong, a very British image, yet reflects growth, freedom and versatility.'
