Parker, Wayne & Kent to work with Mekon
Mekon, the content management specialist, has appointed London-based PR firm Parker, Wayne & Kent to provide ongoing PR support in the UK. The agency will provide strategic consultation, online and offline media relations, thought leadership and event support.
Microsoft has sold digital agency Razorfish to Publicis Groupe for $530m. The French marketing communications group beat rivals WPP and Dentsu in the race for the acquisition, and will pay around 55 per cent of the price in cash.
Somerset County Council is planning to be the first local authority to publish its school dinner menu on Twitter. From January 2010, parents, grandparents or carers will be able to sign up to a daily 'school menu' update, listing what their child will eat for lunch. The feed will also be used to update parents on special theme days, taster sessions and how to apply for free school meals.
Komodo PR & Digital Communications has landed briefs with the mobile applications store GetJar and phone manufacturer Binatone. Komodo has been asked to raise consumer awareness and support corporate growth.
Chewedslippers.com, the site for dog lovers, has appointed digital PR agency Nonsense to raise its profile. The website features a dog psychologist, an online shop and a forum for dog owners.
The Ministry of Defence has issued online engagement guidelines, encouraging its troops to use social media to talk about their activities. The 13-page guide covers blogging, social networking and multiplayer games. Troops are no longer required to seek permission to use Twitter or Facebook.
