Virals depict schizophrenia
Marketing, Tuesday, 11 August 2009, 12:00am,
Mental health charities Mind and Rethink have launched online ads to support their 'Time to change' campaign.
The films, which have been created by MCBD, play on negative stereotypes surrounding schizophrenia to highlight the discrimination faced by patients. They will run on social networking and news websites.
The first film, Schizo Movie, tries to trick the viewer into believing it is a promotion for a thriller.
The second film, entitled Schizophrenic Man Terrifies Kids at Party, depicts a man at a children's party with a giant spider made out of balloons; a voiceover reveals that the man can live a full life despite having the condition.
