The Rugby Football Union has kicked off a public relations drive with
the appointment of Media Management International (MMI) as its first
retained PR agency. MMI will be faced with the task of explaining to the
sporting press the forthcoming changes in the game.
These include payment for players and a new league structure. ‘It’s a
sign of them wanting to take the game into a new professional era,’ said
MMI PR manager Andy Sutherden.
This latest appointment follows that of Dunseath Citigate last month
which is to handle media relations for the Scottish Rugby Union (PR
Week, 10 November).
