Describe the magazine
Sport is a weekly magazine that aims to preview the weekend ahead for a whole range of sports, not just football. We also feature a few surprises, such as bog snorkelling.
Sport recently closed then reopened. What happened?
Our French parent company Sport Media & Strategie went into administration in April. UTV, the owner of TalkSport, bought us and we were back by 12 June.
Will there be any changes?
We've freshened up the front section. UTV wants us to expand into health club partnerships and to venture into other cities.
How will you ensure you don't fold again?
Being part of a big company has made us more confident. TalkSport and Sport complement each other.
Who reads Sport?
Mainly male London-based commuters between 20 and 45 years old, who are passionate about sport.
What makes a great Sport feature?
It has to be relevant and a great talent. We also need proper access, not just five minutes.
Of which feature are you most proud?
Six months after we launched, Sport and The Sun were the only press invited to Madrid to interview David Beckham.
Which sport stars work well?
Footballers do quite well because of England's love of football.
What is your relationship with PROs like?
Good. We are reliant on getting talent and that is largely driven by PR professionals.
PR pet peeves
When they over-promise the length of an interview. Also when stars want to talk solely about their product. We turned down Lewis Hamilton for that reason.
Media must-haves
The Sun and The Sunday Times. Men's Health also delivers every month. And depending who is in it, Q.
