Steve Morgan: MD of Morgan Allen Moore
Morgan Allen Moore MD Steve Morgan has been appointed as the MD of the new practice at Burson-Marsteller.
He told PRWeek that Morgan Allen Moore had closed down and that its remaining clients would be moving over to Burson-Marsteller. He declined to name the clients.
Burson-Marsteller UK CEO Jonathan Jordan told PRWeek: ‘This is not an acquisition. We made an offer to Steve and his team to join us from Morgan Allen Moore. The core team from the Westminster office have joined us.'
However, one person not making the switch is Morgan Allen Moore director Richard Moore, whose next move is unknown. Moore could not be reached for comment as PRWeek went to press.
Morgan's new ‘market access' practice at Burson-Marsteller will advise healthcare clients on issues related to product marketing and access to the NHS. Morgan will work closely with Burson-Marsteller head of public affairs George Hutchison.
The development follows a tough period for Morgan, who ran the latter stages of Peter Hain's controversial Labour deputy leadership campaign.
Morgan hit the headlines after it emerged that he made a £5,000 donation through a mysterious think-tank. The Association of Professional Political Consultants (APPC) then started to look in to a complaint against Morgan, which was subsequently dropped. There were also rumours that Morgan Allen Moore was about to be sold, with Grayling cited as a potential buyer.
