Diary: Turkey of the week - M&C Saatchi/NatWest
Campaign, Friday, 29 May 2009, 12:00am,
After watching M&C Saatchi's new spot for NatWest, Matt Williams doesn't mind kicking the bank when it's down:
"Just when you thought banks couldn't do any more to sully their reputations, this comes along. I get the strategy: NatWest wants to show people it's willing to get personal and help each individual through the financial crisis. But why are the characters so irritating and the jokes so forced? It tries too hard to be normal and chummy, and ends up feeling scripted and patronising."
