Nectar will replace Homebase's own Spend & Save scheme, with parent company Home Retail Group claiming that consumers are in favour of being able to redeem the points at a much wider range of outlets.

The introduction of Nectar will be marked with a two-day 10% sale. Direct mail created by Meteorite, plus email, in-store and digital marketing campaign will also roll out. Customers can also earn double Nectar points on purchases made between Friday 22 to Sunday 31 May.

Earlier this year, Nectar appointed Jan-Pieter Lips as its new managing director. Lips replaced Brian Sinclair, a founding member of Nectar and managing director since 2006.
