LONDON - VisitBritain has appointed Sapient Interactive to redesign its website portfolio including www.visitbritain.com and www.enjoyengland.com in a three-year deal as the tourism organisation aims for a target of 30 million unique visitors by 2011, ahead of the London Olympics.
The appointment follows a six-way pitch and covers more than 60 websites for the organisation. Sapient Interactive will enhance the online user experience and support VisitBritain's strategy to entice visitors to come to Britain. Overseas residents coming to the UK has fallen in the past year, with 32 million visits in 2008, down 2% on 2007.
VisitBritain anticipates the phased roll-out of the redeveloped visitbritain.com sites to commence in April 2010, with the enjoyengland.com and other sites following after that.
