Grant Butler Coomber to work with Handmark.
Handmark, a company that provides applications for mobile phones, has handed its PR account to Grant Butler Coomber. The agency will work to develop Handmark's profile in the mobile content space and drive downloads of its flagship application Pocket Express. The agency won the EMEA account following a competitive pitch.
Coverzones, a business insurance comparison and policy management website, has hired digital specialist Diffusion PR. Coverzones enables small business owners to compare, buy and manage business insurance policies and offers major insurance firms, such as Brit and AIG, access to the small to medium enterprise market. Diffusion will work to drive traffic to the website and build awareness of the company in the national and small business press.
Moneypenny, the telephone answering service company, has handed a UK PR account to Octopus, following a three-way pitch. Moneypenny works with businesses that need to outsource their switchboards or need support with overflowing calls.
Silver Cross, the Yorkshire pram company favoured by many celebrity parents, has appointed Wolfstar for a social media, digital and word of mouth brief. The agency hopes to target 'mummy bloggers' and online parenting communities. Wolfstar will also advise Silver Cross on how to make its blog accessible by introducing more shareable content, videos, images and news.
Spark Communications, the IT PR specialist, has made two redundancies because of budget cuts in light of the economic downturn. Director Kewal Varia said the job cuts were at a junior level and the agency now has ten staff members.
