SABMiller awards Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell accounts to The Bank

LONDON - SABMiller has appointed The Bank to handle its global integrated ad accounts for Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell.

There agency was appointed following a formal pitch. There was not an incumbent on either of the accounts

The Bank is now the lead creative agency across three SABMiller's brands, having held the global account for Peroni Nastro Azzurro since 2004. Peroni Nastro Azzurro's international volumes grew by over 17% in the year to 31 March 2009, making it one of the fastest-growing premium beers in the world.

Chris Taylor, group international brands director for SABMiller, said: ‘Already underway is the development of distinctly different, yet equally appealing brand campaigns for Pilsner Urquell and Grolsch that will engage target consumers in our markets.'

It has yet to be announced when the new campaigns will run in the UK.
