Ketchum nabs ex-Chamberlain boss
Gemma O'Reilly, PR Week UK, Friday, 27 March 2009, 12:00am,
Former Chamberlain Healthcare PR chief Amanda Moulson has resurfaced at Ketchum as part of its revamped senior healthcare team.
Moulson left start-up agency Chamberlain at the beginning of this year, after only a year as MD. She had been brought in by the US-based agency to head up its newly launched London office - the agency's first outside the US (PRWeek, 17 January 2008).
Moulson has now joined the nine-strong healthcare senior management team at Ketchum as an associate director, charged with building the team's global comms expertise.
The Ketchum senior team is being revamped in response to the changing needs of its healthcare clients as the industry continues to evolve through the recession.
Practice director Alexander Watson has been promoted to director as part of the company's growing corporate healthcare and issues management portfolio. UK specialist Nita Ares has also been promoted to associate director from her role as senior account director, to champion Ketchum's continued domestic healthcare offer.
'The practice is growing and our senior team is critical to that success,' said Ketchum healthcare MD Susannah Knox. 'Our clients are facing challenging times with budget pressures, headcount and resourcing problems and restructuring. More than ever they need smart thinking, integrated communications solutions and time/cost- efficient ways of achieving their marketing goals.'
Chamberlain is currently recruiting for a replacement for Moulson. The UK operation is being headed up by media director Vanessa Leon, who joined the office when it was set up last year.
'Since we opened Chamberlain London over a year ago, we have been growing our business by building our account staff and offering European capabilities to our established clients in New York,' said Chamberlain global practice lead Jonathan Wilson.
Chamberlain was acquired by US pharmaceutical marketing company InVentiv Health in 2007.
