From our Readers - Primark has been caught out this time
PR Week UK, Friday, 16 January 2009, 12:00am,
Though many of us admired Primark's unconventional 'two fingered' salute to Panorama last year, the same cannot be said this time round. While the crux of this latest story is largely the same, Primark's response has been much less polished (see p8).
To be prematurely damned by the Ethical Trade Initiative is uncomfortable for Primark, but its lack of preparedness at being able to handle and contain a story about how it does business is equally so.
A reputation is built on what people say about you, not what you tell them.
