Flack: (Saving) on expenses - Vinoteca, London EC1
PR Week UK, Friday, 05 December 2008, 12:00am,
Reviewer: Pam Sharpless, director, USP Content.
- What is it good for?
Prices are ideal for those wishing to save their expense account without scrimping on great cuisine. There is also a huge selection of wines in the European wine bar and shop.
- Signature dish
The seasonal menu changes every day and there is something for everyone. I highly recommend the duck and the steak. Vinoteca is such an enjoyable, and more often that not, three-course experience, so leave the afternoon free as you won't want to leave.
- Who's the boss?
Brett Woonton, Charlie Young and Elena Ares created the restaurant after being influenced by wine bars in Spain and Italy. Head chef Ross Goodall only uses fresh seasonal produce.
- Tips please
Book in advance for lunch and get there early for dinner as they don't take bookings. Ask the informative team for wine advice - with 25 wines by the glass and 275 wines by the bottle it can be difficult to choose. In true Italian wine bar style, you can take home the bottle you have enjoyed at Vinoteca's Wine Shop.
- What's the damage guv'?
A three-course lunch for two with Christmas drinks comes to about £80.
7 St. John Street, London EC1M 4AA 020 7253 8786.
