GMG hires First Radio Sales for rock

Rock Radio, which broadcasts on FM in Glasgow and Greater Manchester and on DAB digital radio in the North East of England and Edinburgh, will be represented by First Radio Sales from Monday (1 December). Local sales will continue to be managed by the stations' in-house teams.

The deal will streamline the process for media agencies, giving them one port of call for national and regional sales and S&P for all the Rock Radio stations. It was managed by a combination of Global Radio Sales and GMG Radio Solutions.

GMG Radio Group commercial director and incoming chief executive Stuart Taylor said: "The Rock Radio brand fits naturally into the First Radio Sales portfolio. The company specialises in local stations and sells the macro TV regions that work perfectly for our Manchester and Glasgow stations."
