PR Week UK, Friday, 14 November 2008, 12:00am,
1. The battle of the reality TV music shows for the Christmas number one spot is about to kick off. Universal Classics and Jazz has briefed Shine Digital to promote the eponymous debut album from Last Choir Standing winners Only Men Aloud. It is expected to go head-to-head with The X Factor winner.
2. Meanwhile, Fleishman-Hillard client McCain Foods has launched an athletics programme with UK Athletics and England Athletics. Sally Gunnell and other hurdlers were at the launch.
3. Three cheers for Trimedia director Justin McKeown, who will be burning the candle at both ends this weekend. He will be working through Friday night for BBC Children in Need, sending out final press releases at 4am, before rushing off to Heathrow for a flight to Amman, Jordan. There he will be providing comms advice to Child Helpline International. We hope he sees some sun.
