Glenfiddich brief for GH
Alec Mattinson, PR Week UK, Friday, 07 November 2008, 6:00am,
GolinHarris will promote leading whisky brand Glenfiddich across the globe after winning a three-way pitch for an international brief from distiller William Grant & Sons.
The agency will work on the firm's flagship Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky account. The Red Consultancy also works for the brand in the UK.
The brief, thought to be worth more than £100,000 a year, will see GolinHarris provide consumer PR support for the international launch of the whisky's 'rare collection' in 2009. It will seek to position Glenfiddich as the world's premier single malt Scotch whisky by targeting influencers and consumers direct.
The account will be led by GolinHarris director Charlie Coney, who said: 'This was pretty much our perfect brief - launching some of the most precious single malt whisky to discerning audiences around the world.'
Asia and the US are key markets for Glenfiddich, and the agency's network of international offices helped its cause, added Coney.
