Digital & Direct: Thomas Cook debuts widget
Marketing, Tuesday, 14 October 2008, 12:00am,
Fly Thomas Cook, the flights-only arm of travel company Thomas Cook, has launched its first social media activity with a 'Holiday Bragging Widget' campaign designed to work with social networking sites and emails.
Developed by digital agency BLM Quantum, Fly Thomas Cook users can download the widget from the brand's website and enter information about when and where they are going on holiday.
The result is a 'holiday countdown clock' complemented by a live weather feed that combines to give the user a colourful animated summary, which shows friends when they are departing and what the weather will be like.
BLM Quantum is supporting the widget's launch with an online media campaign targeting frequent travellers.
