PR Week UK, Friday, 10 October 2008, 12:00am,
1. It has been a good turnout for PROs in this year's Evening Standard list, with Matthew Freud once again leading the charge. Bizarrely, Hanover MD Charles Lewington (pictured) was listed as 'up and coming'. The same Lewington who was John Major's press secretary.
2. Congratulations go to celebrity PRO Ghislain Pascal for being elected town councillor of Bedford's Ampthill Town (pictured). Pascal was once dubbed 'something of a svengali' by Esquire magazine. Appropriately, Ampthill Town's website claims that it 'rarely fails to cast its spell on visitors.'
3. The editor at large of Nuts magazine Pete Cashmore is, well, nuts. Premier PR persuaded him to get a quote from The Wire tattooed on to his arm. 'It is an honour to have this etched on to my body. Besides, you don't say no to Premier. I'm not stupid,' he explained. Ahem.
