Spreckley Partners has won a five-way pitch with data storage manufacturer Brocade. Spreckley will run media relations and awareness-building programmes for the firm, which numbers Cisco systems among its rivals. Brocade's UK PR account was formerly with Weber Shandwick.
Gameloft has appointed Racepoint Group to handle its consumer and gaming industry PR. The mobile games publisher sells about 200,000 games a day globally and Racepoint's brief is to attract non-gamers to mobile video games. The win is Racepoint mobile team's fifth this year.
AxiCom has been called in by LeftHand Networks to run its PR program in the Netherlands and UK. The software company creates virtual storage devices that gather files and are designed for easy access and protection against data loss. AxiCom will run a media relations campaign focusing on software distributors and European technology analysts.
Hot Cherry is promoting a social networking site for pet lovers that went live on 1 September. Pet charity Blue Cross created All About Pets - billed by the charity as a 'Facebook for pet lovers' - to allow people to talk about their pets online. Digital specialist Hot Cherry is working to promote the site after winning the account last year.
half of UK PR firms do not use systems to monitor their own website traffic, Statcounter has discovered. It surveyed agencies that featured in PRWeek's Top 150 PR firms and found that 49 per cent did not use the technology. This dropped to 28 per cent among the Top 25 firms but grew to 58 per cent among the firms ranked 100 - 150. Website tracker technology allows users to see what search terms are used to source a site.
