City & Corporate: BBC loses editor to GA
PR Week UK, Friday, 29 August 2008, 12:00am,
The BBC's planning editor is to move to Gavin Anderson in November.
Julian Bailey will become a director, reporting to GA London CEO Ken Cronin.
In his current role at the BBC, Bailey created a new multimedia unit to deliver business news across bbc.co.uk, BBC TV and BBC Radio, encouraging different parts of BBC News to work together.
Bailey was formerly editor for the BBC Business and Economics Centre, in charge of business and economics news across BBC Radio.
He was responsible for leading a team of journalists producing business, economics and consumer programming for BBC Radio, including: Wake up to Money (Five Live), The Today Programme (Radio 4) and Jeff Randall's Weekend Business (Five Live).
'I am delighted that Julian is joining us at a time when the 24/7 nature of media is having a real impact on our clients. Julian will strengthen and enhance our media offering,' said Cronin.
Cronin was promoted to CEO of GA's London office, in the wake of former CEO Fergus Wylie's European move.
