LONDON - Official Euro 2008 sponsor Castrol is taking to the streets to target football supporters in eight of the main host cities at this year's championships.
Fans in Austria and Switzerland are being given the opportunity to win tickets for the semi-final by registering with a member of the promotional team wearing Adwalker digital advertising units.
The Adwalker digital mobile unit is worn by its operators as a compact body pack incorporating an LCD screen, wearable computer, touch screen and printer, allowing for brand advertising, data capture, coupon printing and a gaming platform.
Castrol is promoting its www.castrolindex.com website where fans can analyse performances and effectiveness of some of Europe's best talent. It is the first time a digital mobile media platform such as this has been used at a major football tournament.
Simon Crisp, Adwalker chief executive, said the digital capability of its units carry the "power and sophistication to bring the message to the customer".
