Logica review heralds new chief
Clare O'Connor, PR Week UK, Thursday, 05 June 2008, 6:00am,
IT giant Logica has hired a new head of PR and media relations for the UK following a company-wide strategic review.
Rima Awad joins from FTSE 100-listed credit information firm Experian, where she was senior marketing manager, responsible for PR as part of a wider role. 'PR was quite a big part of my remit, which also included comms and branding for the interactive business in the UK,' she said.
Awad said that while she currently has no plans to repitch Logica's UK PR account, currently held by Trimedia, she was 'reviewing everything' and 'looking at the PR function'.
Before joining Experian, Awad worked on a consultant basis at Visa Europe, where she focused on comms around the company's involvement with the Olympic Games.
Logica recently made headlines when it cut 1,300 jobs earlier this year as part of a restructure by CEO Andy Green.
