Omnicom hires Vodafone sports sponsorship executive

LONDON - Omnicom Media Group has appointed David Pinnington director of sports marketing across its EMEA portfolio responsible for the group's overall sports marketing businesses.
Pinnington joins the company following his six-year tenure as head of global media and sponsorship integration at Vodafone where he played a key role in various sponsorship agreements involving the UEFA Champions League, Manchester United, Ferrari, McLaren Mercedes, the English Cricket Board and David Beckham.
Based in the UK, David will have a regional remit, reporting into Philippa Brown, chief executive officer of Omnicom Media Group UK and Andrew Lord, director, Fuse EMEA.
Philippa Brown said, 'David is an extremely experienced operator and will provide a valuable service to our clients already investing in sports marketing and sponsorship activities.' He will join the company on 19 May.
