Orangutan: habitat destroyed
Lexis PR, JCPR and Ogilvy were targeted by Greenpeace after a morning of campaigning by the outfit.
Greenpeace wants the agencies to put pressure on the brand to stop using unsustainable palm oil.
Greenpeace produced 'new evidence' that apparently proves Unilever brand Dove is contributing to the destruction of Indonesia's rainforest and peatlands.
The agency visits followed a protest outside the Unilever headquarters in the early hours of this morning. Greenpeace believes that Unilever is one of the largest global consumers of palm oil.
Unilever heads up the industry body, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, in charge of making the sector more sustainable. But Greenpeace believes the company continues to purchase palm oil from members of the RSPO who destroy peatland areas and the rainforest to make way for oil plant plantations.
It is calling for a moratorium on expansion into key rainforest and peatland areas.
See PRWeek on Thursday for a full report, and reaction from the agencies, on the Greenpeace protests.
