The Search Works buy boosts TradeDoubler

LONDON - Digital marketing group TradeDoubler's UK revenue rocketed by 128.6 per cent last year compared with 2006, following its acquisition of The Search Works' parent company the IMW Group last July.
According to financial results released today, UK revenue in Q4 2007 totalled SEK (Swedish kronor) 502m (£39.6m), compared to SEK 219.9m (£17.3m) for the same period in 2006. Profits were up to SEK 76.7m (£6m) in Q4 2007, from SEK 54.4m (£4.3m) in the last quarter of the previous year.
However, the Sweden-based company warned that client losses had affected relative growth.
TradeDoubler, which is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, said sales in electronics and retail sectors were strong. But the company warned that client losses had impacted results and forecast slower growth rates in the UK compared to previous years.
TradeDoubler has steadily expanded its range of digital services from being an affiliate network and bought The IMW Group, including The Search Works - one of the biggest UK search marketing agencies, in July last year.
