Britvic taps former Emap CMO as marketing director

LONDON - Britvic has appointed Simon Stewart, former chief marketing officer at Emap, as its new marketing director.

Stewart will be will be responsible for overseeing Britvic's brand and category marketing, innovation, insight, corporate affairs and marketing services capabilities.

He replaces high-profile market chief Andrew Marsden, who left the drinks company last August.

Stewart began his marketing career with Coca-Cola in Australia, before moving to Diageo, where he became vice president of marketing for the Smirnoff brand.

In 2001, Stewart joined Allied Domecq as senior vice president of marketing and was later promoted to chief marketing officer for Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine.

He will take up his role on 4 February and report to chief executive, Paul Moody, who said: 'Simon brings to the business a proven track record in building brands in the FMCG sector, with strong experience in drinks. We are confident in his ability to drive business growth through developing our brand and innovation plans as well as our focused category strategies.'
