Brightcove to handle online video for IAC
Tristan O'Carroll, Media Week, Thursday, 20 December 2007, 4:00pm,
LONDON – Online video group Brightcove has sealed an agreement with Ticketmaster and Citysearch owner IAC to create and distribute online video services.
Under the terms of the deal, any IAC business will be able to use Brightcove's online TV platform to publish video content to their websites, manage syndication and viral distribution, integrate advertising, and launch independent or integrated consumer media campaigns.
Jeremy Allaire, chairman and chief executive of Brightcove, said the deal would help IAC to deepen its online properties into video-rich services.
IAC has been a minority stakeholder in Brightcove since December 2006.
Brightcove partners already include A&E Television Networks, CBS Corporation, Discovery Communications and MTV Networks.
In July, Brightcove opened its first international office, in London, with customers including BSkyB, Channel 4, Emap and Guardian News & Media.
