Adams to help out Consolidated
David Quainton, PR Week UK, Thursday, 13 December 2007, 9:00am,
Consolidated Communications has parachuted in Lexis founder Tim Adams as chairman as it seeks fresh impetus.
Adams joins weeks after former MD Sarah Robinson was ousted in a boardroom coup (PRWeek, 12 October). The agency is still trawling for a new MD, having called in headhunters back in
October.
‘This is the first time we’ve appointed a chairman since our MBO,’ said Consolidated deputy MD Nick Clark. ‘Tim will provide invaluable experience at an important time for the business and help us make the subtle changes necessary to help us achieve our plan.’
Adams is seen to be a perfect guiding hand for Consolidated as it looks to reassert itself as one of the country’s leading consumer agencies.
He co-founded Lexis in 1992, and as chairman and chief executive saw it through to its eventual sale to its management team in 2002. Since the MBO Adams has been running his own consultancy.
Consolidated completed its MBO in 2001. Its board ousted Robinson after 17 years, expressing a desire for the agency to grow more quickly than it had been.
