GreenTarget swells ranks

The Banker’s technology editor is set to join financial comms agency GreenTarget.
Alan Duerden will join former Weber Shandwick Square Mile founder Tim Jackaman’s agency in the next month.
Duerden will report to GreenTarget’s MD of PR Melissa Rowling, and will concentrate on developing the firm’s financial technology and banking expertise.
The Banker is a Financial Times publication. Prior to The Banker, Duerden was editor of the Investor Services Journal, covering all aspects of the securities services industry. Previously, he held a number of different roles at Euromoney.
In the 15 months since formation, the GreenTarget team has grown to more than 20 people. The agency was formed last year under the title GJR by Rowling, Jackaman – who co-founded Square Mile before its sale to BSMG Worldwide in 2000 – and a further former WS Square Mile colleague Ian Pope. Just months later, they merged with US-based GreenTarget in September (PRWeek, 23 September 2006).
Following the merger, GJR’s Nick Glanvil became UK MD. He is a former CEO of design consultancy Paufley.
Jackaman said: ‘Having experienced strong growth in our first year, recruitment in our core areas is now a priority. We hope to expand the team further in due course.’
The agency offers design and branding support to traditional City and financial clients, as well as PR.
