Z’est to publicise mobile Christmas card service
PR Week UK, Friday, 14 December 2007, 6:00am,
A mobile content company has signed up Z’est Corporate PR to launch its downloadable greetings as ‘an environmentally friendly Christmas card alternative’.
Z’est has been hired by mobile outfit Billadam to promote MobiGreets, which allows users to send animated Christmas cards via mobile phone.
The B2B agency will be capitalising on Envirowise research that shows that more than a billion cards end up in the bin each Christmas.
Visitors to the MobiGreets website can download its themed cards for £1.50 and send them as a picture text message.
‘Despite having a reputation of being conservative with new technology, research shows that as a nation, we are quite the opposite,’ said Z’est MD Marc Prema-Ratner.
‘We have a willingness to experiment, especially when it is to do with mobile phones.’
Billadam CEO Amir Mohamed said the company plans to expand into general greeting cards, plus special Diwali, Chinese New Year and birthday downloads.
