Mayor to promote inner-city farms
PR Week UK, Thursday, 06 December 2007, 2:00pm,
The Mayor of London is embarking on a campaign to raise the profile of inner-city farms.
Ken Livingstone’s in-house comms team is promoting the capital’s 15 city farms to families and schoolchildren, particularly those living in deprived areas.
The drive includes the distribution of an easy-to-read guidebook, aimed at raising awareness of urban farms among children and encouraging them to find out about the importance of farming and where food comes from.
The Mayor’s office has also published a plan for an East London Green Grid – a network of interlinked green open spaces, in preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
