CIPR rewards John Brown for services

The former head of public relations at Glasgow City Council was awarded the 2007 Stephen Tallents Medal.

The gong is awarded at the discretion of CIPR president Lionel Zetter and recognises ‘outstanding achievement in and contributions to public relations’.

Zetter said: ‘I chose to present the medal to John for the contribution he has made to the Institute. He’s done this as former chair of CIPR Scotland and as a current trustee of the CIPR’s benevolent fund, Iprovision, as well as a CIPR Board and Council member.

‘But also, John is the most hard-working, diligent and supportive colleague you could hope to work with. He is also a great guy with a terrific sense of humour.’

Brown has more than 30 years’ experience in local government, public relations and the media. He is currently working as an independent consultant, and has undertaken communications work for a number of organisations in Scotland since 2004.
