US trade body signs Racepoint
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 07 November 2007, 6:00pm,
WASHINGTON DC: The US-based Consumer Electronics Association has appointed newly rebranded Racepoint Group UK as its first European consultancy following a four-way pitch.
The association, the American trade body for the consumer tech industry, has briefed Racepoint (formerly Fuse PR) to promote voluntary energy efficiency regulations in the EU and to highlight energy savings possible with consumer electronics.
The agency will run a campaign team addressing negative perceptions of the environmental impact of gadgets such as TVs and computers.
Racepoint MD Jay O’Connor said the campaign would involve working with European stakeholders to ensure a balanced debate. He will report to Kristina Taylor, manager of environmental and state policy comms at the association.
