AMEC brings in PR heavyweight
David Quainton, PR Week UK, Wednesday, 31 October 2007, 11:07am,
The Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) has brought in a former MD of Golin Harris UK and Fleishman-Hillard PR as its first executive director.
Barry Leggetter will remain in his role as non executive chairman of Bite Communications, a position he took-up in August last year.
His new role will be to spearhead a drive to establish AMEC as the global trade body for companies and individuals involved in research, measurement and evaluation of communications programmes.
Leggetter said he wants to build stronger working relationships with other communications bodies including the CIPR, PRCA, IPA and ISBA.
‘It is an exciting time in communications consultancy because of the dynamic rate of change which is taking place, especially in Social Media,’ said Leggetter.
‘My new role is to work with members and other communications groups. We want to show how objective, independent programme evaluation can help clients and agencies show not only the value of a programme or campaign, but how it can work even harder,’ he added.
