Npower has revised its television campaign starring England cricket
captain Nasser Hussain, to include jokes about his recent thumb break
during the test match against Pakistan. The original pounds 3m campaign
showed Hussain being taunted by Australian cricket star Steve Waugh, who
England will face this summer. Waugh says: 'We're going to bury you
mate ... after Pakistan have ripped you apart of course'. The new
ten-second execution, by TBWA/London, shows Hussain knocking over a vase
with his cricket bat. The voiceover says: 'Npower home insurance.
Perfect if you're always breaking things. Thumbs not included, Nasser'.
The ad will be supported with a press campaign that also uses the
breakage theme. The campaign will run from May 28, after the England
team is announced for the second Npower test on May 31.
