LONDON - Pop TV, the kids'-focused 'toons and pop music broadcaster, has launched its Pop and Tiny Pop channels on Virgin Media as it looks to expand its presence in the vast UK kids' television market.
Further expansion is also lined-up. The broadcaster’s third channel, Pop Girl, which launched in August as the first UK kids’ channel exclusively for girls, will launch on Virgin Media in the New Year.
Pop TV, which has ambitions to become “the UK’s own Nickelodeon”, according to Candida Jackson, sales director of Pop TV sales house Dolphin Television, is also available on satellite.
In August, Pop and Tiny Pop launched +1 channels on Sky Digital. The channels’ new EPG positions on cable are channels 736 and 737 respectively.
