Huntsworth boss scoops PR award

Lord Chadlington, the influential chief executive of Huntsworth, has been honoured for outstanding contribution in the field of international PR.

The Alan Campbell-Johnson Medal, sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company, is in memory of Alan Campbell, who died in 1998 having worked in PR for 45 years. Last year, Burson-Marsteller founder Harold Burson won the award.

Chadlington invested in international PR group Huntsworth when it was a shell company in 2000.

He has since built it into a £200m company. Chadlington began his career in PR in 1974 when he founded Shandwick.

Separately... the CIPR has elected its president for  2009. Director of Companycare Kevin Taylor said he intends to focus on the CIPR’s reputation, relevance and recognition.

‘I believe membership should be seen as an individual statement about professionalism,’ he said.
The CIPR president for 2008 is Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, director of Liquid Public Relations.
