LGA interim role for PA supremo
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 12 September 2007, 6:00pm,
The Local Government Association (LGA) has appointed a former Charter88 lobbyist as its interim public affairs chief.
Chris Lawrence-Pietroni moves to the LGA in October as interim director of corporate strategy and public affairs. He will spend a year in the post, covering for Jenny Crighton who is on maternity leave, and then will stay on for a further six months.
Lawrence-Pietroni is currently head of policy at Hampshire County Council.
He is also a former adviser to Sky TV on corporate social responsibility and has been deputy director and acting director at Charter88 – the pressure group for constitutional and electoral reform.
Earlier this year, the LGA named Harrow Council director Paul Najsarek as interim director of corporate strategy and public affairs (PRWeek, 4 July).
This week, a spokeswoman said Najsarek was no longer taking up the role due to ‘staffing pressure in Harrow’.
