Building firm in two major hires

Construction company HBG UK has beefed up its comms armoury with two high-profile hires.
The firm has brought in Barbara Cahalane as director of corporate communications and Mark Slattery as press and media manager.
Cahalane is a former director of public affairs at the Law Society in England and Wales. Slattery is former head of communications at pro-euthanasia charity Dignity in Dying and prior to this was at head of communications at the National Lottery Commission. Both join the organisation after a period of freelancing.
The department was previously headed up by director of PR Alan Smith, who is now director of corporate communications at the Kier Group.
