Splendid opens an office in Oz

Splendid Communications has taken its first step towards a global presence by announcing plans to open a Sydney office.

The consumer agency recently won a six-way pitch to grab the account for Smirnoff Vodka in Australia. It has held the UK account since autumn 2003.

‘We had been planning to roll out globally for a while when this opportunity came up,’ said Splendid UK PR director Kathryn Pringle.

The Sydney office will open next month, headed by Ben Gotto Smith, previously with local PR agency Hausmann Communications.

Splendid recently hired Andy Bellass, from advertising agency Mother, as a director in its UK office.
