Allan: lobbying for Remploy
Portland, headed by ex-Tony Blair aide Tim Allan, has been lobbying on behalf of ‘specialist employment services group’ Remploy since April. Earlier this year, Remploy announced plans to close its poorest performing factories, with the loss of 2,500 jobs.
The GMB union wrote to Hain last week. The letter by general secretary Paul Kenny said: ‘I would be grateful if you would call for an investigation into why Portland PR were employed by Remploy, what they have been doing and how much they have been paid.’
