Fuse Sport, the Manchester-based sports agency set up by former Telegraph Group managing director Mark Dixon and ex-Emap head of sponsorship Adam Roland, has hired The Daily Telegraph's former head of sports sponsorship, James Mann.

Mann joins as consultancy director and will engage with sports sponsorship clients in a bid to help them fulfil their aspirations.

Mann has most recently been working as sales director for Canadian radio owner CanWest, where he was part of the launch team for the successful licence application for Original 106FM.

At The Daily Telegraph he was involved in the Rolex sponsorship of Wimbledon, as well as Toyota's deal with Test Match cricket.

He was also instrumental in the Royal Bank of Scotland's golf and rugby deals across all the Telegraph's online and print platforms.

Mann said of his new employer: "There simply aren't many of our contemporaries who can boast a similar level of direct experience."
