Associated New Media, the new media publishing division of Associated Newspapers, has confirmed it will be relaunching the women’s portal CharlotteStreet, which launched last October. ANM’s editorial director, Ted Verity, will oversee the process. Phase one is expected to be a soft launch in the late autumn and ANM will use cross-promotion in the group’s leading papers including the Daily Mail, the Evening Standard and the Metro.

Barclays B2B.com, the banking group’s business portal, has appointed

Alison Hutchinson as chief executive. Hutchinson joins from IBM where

she was global director of online financial services. Barclays B2B.com

launched in April and aims to provide internet-based business

services.





Canesten, the Bayer-owned health care brand, is launching a free health

advice line in conjunction with web branding agency 64K. Canesten has

provided information on its web site since April, but in September will

add a free advice line. By clicking on a button, customers can decide

the best time for a health adviser to call them back.





The Big Brother web site has become one of the top 50 most-visited web

sites in the UK following the success of the TV show. In July, 700,000

people visited the web site at least once, and the average time on site

was 16.1 minutes. Demon.net, which provides video streaming for the

site, became the number one audio/video-streaming site in the UK. Reach

of the umbrella Channel 4 web site jumped from 1.8% in June to 7.1% in

July.





Rare Medium, the internet solutions provider, has just completed a

redesign of the online beauty site eve.com, which launched in 1999. New

features on the site include automatic replenishment and consumer

product reviews. Eve is launching into new categories and recently

expanded into jewellery.





Clickmusic.co.uk, the online music site, has appointed digital media

agency getfrank to redesign its site following a three-way pitch.





Static 2358, the company behind PlayJam, the online game server, has

appointed four new senior managers. Carolyn Maze joins as commercial

director of broadcast from BSkyB, where she was UK and international

distribution manager for a number of channels. Kirsty Mills joins as

e-commerce manager for PlayJam from Quantum Internet, James Bloom joins

as head of playjam.com from web-agency Lateral. Eric Zie becomes

operations director at Static. He was formerly at the Royal Bank of

Scotland.





Planetfootball.com, a division of British Sky Broadcasting Group, has

formed an alliance with e-marketing firm EMT Corporation. EMT will

create a marketing network for the English Premiership League football

teams that come under the planetfootball portfolio, including Leeds

United, Southampton and Manchester City.





uTravel.co.uk has signed a three-week deal with BT Talk21, which will

provide it with an estimated 30,000 potential new visitors a day.

BTTalk21 customers will gain instant access to the site each time they

exit their e-mail account. New visitors who enter the site via BTTalk21

will also have the chance to win a dream holiday.
