SmithKline Beecham
PAUL WHITFIELD, Marketing, Thursday, 25 November 1999, 12:00am,
With the winter flu season fast approaching, SmithKline Beecham is launching a pounds 4m television campaign for Beechams Flu Plus, set to run from this weekend until February. It shows a woman suffering the different symptoms of flu through visual metaphors: ice crystals and flames on her face; a hydraulic piston on her back sends flying sparks and an exploding rock on to her temples. The ad ends with dark clouds clearing to reveal a sunrise as the woman explains that Beechams can relieve symptoms. The ad was created by Grey Advertising’s Green Grey division. Media is through MediaCom TMB.
