Vision Express to revise pounds 11m work after APL merger

Vision Express, the high street optician, is reviewing its pounds 11m advertising account, currently held by Ammirati Puris Lintas.

11m advertising account, currently held by Ammirati Puris Lintas.



The review follows APL’s merger with Lowe Howard-Spink, to form Lowe

Lintas & Partners. Lowes’ holds the pounds 5m account for rival

optician, Dollond & Aitchison.



A spokeswoman for Vision Express said: ’We are reviewing our advertising

in the light of the merger, but until a new agency is appointed, we will

continue to work with APL.’



In the UK, Vision Express operates around 100 company-owned stores and

62 joint-venture stores.



The company recently announced plans to roll out its Vision Express

Optical Lab format on the back of the success of a trial in the UK. It

has opened several stores across Europe and is now looking to expand

into Asia and the US.



APL has held the Vision Express account since July 1998. Its most recent

ads have featured Vision Express chairman, Daniel Abbitan, talking about

innovations.
