Ethical search engine seeks first consumer agency
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 20 June 2007, 6:00pm,
Everyclick.com - a search engine that donates to charity each time its service is used - is on the hunt for its first consumer PR agency.
The ethical search engine donates half its gross revenues to charity. It was launched in June 2005 and last month raised more than £1.5m of equity investment.
Users of the site can choose the charity that they would like their donations to go to. At launch the charity estimated that if ten supporters of each of the 188,000 registered charities in the UK switched to everyclick.com their clicks would raise £22m in a year, at no cost to any of the charities.
As well as targeting consumers to drive traffic to site, everyclick.com encourages charities to market the site by emailing their supporters and encouraging them to use the engine to boost their fundraising.
The site had performed 41,393,377 searches and raised more than £232,060 for charity as PRWeek went to press.
Last month CEO Polly Gowers was voted Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Ethical Business Awards 2007. The agency will report to PR and marketing manager Emma Walton.
