UK Athletics nabs Vero's Furlong
David Quainton, PR Week UK, Wednesday, 06 June 2007, 6:01pm,
UK Athletics has mined its retainer agency to find a new head of communications, poaching Claire Furlong from Vero Communications.
Furlong quits in July after a year at Vero, where she worked on the recently won UK Athletics account (PRWeek, 21 October 2006).
She will take the role of head of communications and replaces Helen Wyeth who has joined British Triathlon in a similar role. Also joining UK Athletics as comms manager is former Home Office press officer Richard Warburton.
Vero has moved swiftly to replace Furlong, bringing in ex-Portsmouth FC director of comms and Chelsea FC senior press officer Helen Wood.
